Dear Fellow members,
As this is my last letter as President of this Association, I would like
to just take the opportunity to say that I Thank all of you for the support
that I have had over the past four years and wish the new President all
the very Best for the next two years. Yours in culinary friendship ..............................
As they say in all good promotions these days; but wait there is more!
How after fours years could I finish with Such as short comment! Well
I could but that would be unfair to all those Presidents, Vice presidents
Secretaries, Treasurers Executive members, Committee members, the Stockpot
editor and many, many others Who have given their time and more to make
sure that the Association is still there. That is the important part
The New Zealand Chefs Association is still a name that people recognise.
What we need is a person at the top Who has the time and some input of
money by the Association to promote us to a point that we can employ a
full Time person.
We here all the time from people who are member's as well as those who
are on the fringes, what Is in it for me. It has been said so many times
that we must give to receive and that is why I am still a member. For
a measly twenty six cents a day I can be a member.
What do I get out of it is the knowledge that I am a part Of the growing number of committed people that believe that as like minded people I can assist my fellow Members to maintain their standards and up lift those who are joining the Hospitality Profession. That is why I Committed not just this year's fees, but paid up front with the fees for 2002 -2003.
I hope to see many of you at the AGM in Auckland I am sure that you will enjoy yourselves and have some time To reflect on what has been but to more forward. More in my Presidential Report at the AGM.
