| TOKYO, JAPAN – The culinary world, in beautiful
Japan, recently endowed a tremendous award on American Executive Chef, Rick
Scott, of the Tokyo American Club (TAC). The top chefs of All Japan Cooks
Association (AJCA) bestowed an honorary membership to Chef Scott on behalf
of AJCA President, Shiro Deguchi. The award was given at a gourmet dinner
on April 28, 2000 in the American Room of TAC and was attended by several
top chefs from America and Japan. The AJCA is Japans leading association of cooks, chefs and food industry specialists. They have 20,000 members throughout the country and are one of 67 member countries of the World Association of Cooks Societies (WACS). Japan is also the country elected by the world body to represent Asia in the capacity of Continental Director for WACS. President Deguchi and AJCA advance the ideals and goals of the study of Western cuisine and it’s advancement throughout Japan and Asia The friendship extended to great Western chefs like the famous Rick Scott from his top counterparts was welcomed and heralded. Scott has previously invited chefs from all over the world to work in his kitchens and currently has already 96 Japanese chefs working with him at TAC.. |

RELEASE The gaps of language difficulties are bridged while education for all chefs is put at the top of the list. Interns in Scott’s kitchens range from US Navy submarine chefs, to visiting young Japanese cooks, who constantly are craving to learn more. By AJCA recognizing and awarding Scott an honorary membership into AJCA, he has also entered into WACS as a full member. With 1.5 million WACS member chefs, AJCA and the Tokyo American Club are forming new bonds of friendship.
